Being our biggest organ, there’s no surprise that skincare is one of the hottest and most talked about beauty topics of all time. Not only do we have cleansing and caring to think about, but when we hit a certain point in life, caring for your skin with age-concern in mind becomes such a huge priority. And boy doesn’t that suck!
I don’t know about you, but I tend to get a little tired when it comes to skincare. I’ve tried a whole bunch of things, some that work and some that have just been way more hassle than they’re worth, but I’ve just got to the point in my skincare lifetime where I just want to find something that works.
So, I have had a bit of a search around for something new to try. As we all do when we hit this stage in our skincare woes.
My skin isn’t awful and I really don’t think it’s gotten to the point of no return or the consideration of a procedure that is maybe more surgical, but I also didn’t start early enough when it comes to prevention. I really feel like I need something nourishing to revitalize my skin but also at the same time, something that is quite natural and won’t feel too harsh on my face.
Enter Kollagen Intensiv. So I’ve heard some mixed reviews about this one and I felt like it was about time that I gave it a go myself.
The Kollagen Intensiv Low Down
This stuff really does focus on ageing, which is a perfect start for me. Or should I say anti-ageing. Some of my biggest ageing issues promise to be covered. From fine lines and wrinkles to sagginess and even pigmentation problems, each and every one of these are covered according to Kollagen Intensiv.
After declaring that I really feel like I need some deep nourishment for my face, I’m definitely excited to see that Kollagen Intensiv claim to completely nourish skin cells and trigger a sort of regeneration state for your skin. It works on a really deep revitalising level to put moisture back in to the skin and combat the loss of elasticity. All leading to skin that is much more radiant and youthful looking. So far, so good!
What I really like about Kollagen Intensiv is that it’s natural. The team have put together a really great combination of ingredients that aim to boost collagen production and we all know how important collagen is for skincare, especially for those over the age of 35 years old.
I just want to take a second to actually talk about the ingredients, some of which are organic, that the Kollagen Intensiv team have used within the product. So many skincare companies really do highlight certain ingredients these days and they become a sort of wonder ingredient that everyone wants to use, but what do we actually know about them and how good for us are they? Not to mention how safe!?
Firstly, I love that Vitamin C along with green tea and cucumber extracts have been used and are proudly some of the top ingredients. We all know how great Vitamin C is for us and being an anti-oxidant, it is great for the skin. Likewise, the green tea and cucumber extracts have the same properties and are perfect for toning!
Shea Butter is such a big ingredient for body moisturisers at the moment, so I love that Kollagen Intensiv uses this too. It’s so rich and nourishing, so this definitely assures me that the cream will provide deep moisturisation. But I also love that Retinol (a form of Vitamin A) is used thanks to its benefits with sun damage as well as Hyaluronic Acid as I now know that this one is great for tissue care in the body – making it perfect for collagen stimulation and keeping skin tight.
And How Does it Work?
Well, this is now what I’m looking to find out – wish me luck!
First of all, I want to say that while I do have some fine lines, they aren’t overly pronounced – so do take that into consideration when you’re comparing my results to what you might find. So I’ve been using it for six weeks so far and I definitely feel like I can give a really accurate description of the results. I’ve also been using it twice daily – once in the morning before I apply my makeup and then again after a deep cleanse before bed.
Kollagen Intensiv actually has a great feel about it. It’s not greasy or oily to touch which I love and it doesn’t feel like that on my skin either. It’s also quite light and doesn’t feel like it clogs my pores. I’d definitely say it’s great for its moisturising and hydrating abilities. My skin feels way better just because of this alone.
I know I said before that it’s known for its collagen boosting abilities and you definitely get that feeling when using it. My skin just feels really plumped, just like it has gained so much more collagen. I’m not scientific in any way, but that’s just how it feels.
It even looks a little brighter, so I’d say that the pigmentation results are also great. It overall has much more of a tighter feel too – which, because I am looking for an anti-ageing solution, is just the result I was hoping for.
So What’s the End Verdict?
It’s good. It’s more than good, it’s great. I’m have nothing bad to say about Kollagen Intensiv at all which for me, is just a fantastic result. I do love that it’s natural and organic as well as keeping true to its promises.
I will definitely be rebuying Kollagen Intensiv and I’m proud to be firmly in the I LOVE IT camp!
