Moisturize your face with your preferred lotion or cream.

Be sure to change the filter every time you use it, or it will become clogged.

When using their wand, use it gently and don’t push it against your skin. Just allow the suction to do its thing.

There is also an option to allow the machine to adjust the suction power automatically, depending on what part of the face you’re working on. Watch the screen, and listen for the machine to beep to tell you to move on to another portion of your face.

After you run through the treatment with the machine’s recommendations, switch it to manual and lightly go back over the skin of your face. This helps in clearing up any skin cells that might not have been exfoliated.

Although Microderm MD works well on fine lines and wrinkles, it takes it awhile to work away deeper wrinkles. It will just take more time, since there is more to be done with deeper wrinkles. Using an anti-wrinkle cream may help speed up the process.

I bought this home microderm product after many years of getting microderms at the spa, I normally go at least once a month and always love the results. I didn’t even know that you could get something like this to use at home, and I was pretty surprised to find it on Amazon for so cheap. I normally spend at least $60 each time I go to the spa for my microderm, and I honestly can’t tell much of a difference between the home treatment with the microderm md and what I was doing at the spa. The product even looks pretty much the same as the one they use at the spa, just a little bit smaller.

As far as the results go, microderms in general really do the job. My group of lady friends and I get them all the time, and I credit that along with some good face products for keeping my skin very youthful for my age. I do not need Botox or any other treatments from the dermatologist because I keep a pretty good regimen with my skin every month. Now I use this product at least twice a week, which is great since before I could only afford one or two microderms a month at the spa. I gave it 5 stars since it really is almost the same treatment that I have spent many thousands of dollars on over the years. Wish I knew about this thing before! My first choice was Nu Brilliance. After watching it over and over on Shop NBC I decided I had to have one. Thank goodness I read the reviews first. That product has too many flaws to take a chance with. So I started researching other brands which is when I found this one (Microderm MD/Peelife). It had 8 reviews and they were all 5 stars so I decided to try it. I received it today and used it for the first time and I am very, very happy with the results. It was very easy to use. The instructions were very clear. The suction was very good. I emailed customer service on the Trophy Skin website to find out where to get extra tips and filters and I got a very friendly response within 5 minutes. BTW, because this is diamond tip it should never have to be replaced unlike all of the others that use crystal and need constant replacing. And most of all, my skin looks great! I can’t wait to see how it will look after a few treatments. So far so good. I would highly recommend.

Our Evaluation

Nothing works overnight when it comes to clearing up skin problems, but we thought the Microderm MD was effective in treating many skin issues, and it was still gentle. It did not cause any skin irritation, nor did it dry skin out.

Be sure to follow the advice on the website where this product is sold. You should allow about ten days between your treatments, so that you don’t irritate or over-dry your face. It’s also very important to use a good moisturizer as soon as your treatments are done, since your skin will be very accepting of moisture at that time.

The company sells the machine for a 30-day trial at $14.95, although it will cost a lot more if you keep it. You will also pay for shipping and handling, of course. Private sites sell the machine for $300 or so, but they don’t have that 30 day trial period.

We’ve researched and reviewed quite a few dark spot correctors and skin lighteners, so we’ve come to the next, which is made by Proactiv.

Why are we hesitant about Proactiv Dark Spot Corrector?

Proactiv Dark Spot Corrector Review Before we used the product, we read the ingredients, of course. And the active ingredient in Proactiv is hydroquinone. You may have heard of this ingredient if you have read our other reviews. It is possible that hydroquinone causes cancer, and the FDA has blacklisted it for that reason.

Proactiv only uses a 2% concentration in its dark spot corrector, and that’s lower than the usual 4% of many prescription products. Despite that, we just don’t think it’s worth the risk to use this ingredient on your skin, especially when there are natural ingredients that do almost as well at lightening skin.

What is Proactiv Dark Spot Corrector Designed to Do?

Since they have a lot of experience in skin care, it was natural for Proactiv to branch out and market a skin lightener. The product was created to treat darker spots that may be left on the skin by acne scars, and other possible causes.

What Do We Like?

What Don’t We Like?

Hydroquinone is usually effective at fading acne scars, melasma and liver spots. But there are tests confirming the danger of using the product, and the benefits simply don’t outweigh the risks.

Besides hydroquinone, there are no other skin lightening ingredients in this product.

In addition, it’s pricey, for a product that only has one useful ingredient, and one that is potentially dangerous to your health, as well.

We also discovered that the Proactiv Dark Spot Corrector isn’t strong enough to help in fading many age spots. We don’t know why they included hydroquinone at all, if they only use a 2% concentration that simply isn’t that effective in clearing up dark spots.

What About Comparisons Between Proactiv Dark Spot Corrector and Other Similar Products?

This product simply doesn’t compete with products like Xtreme Brite and Meladerm Cream. They have safer ingredients, and they use more than one ingredient to lighten dark spots.

What Do Proactiv Customers Think?

I am adult female that has struggled for years with ongoing acne breakouts. I tried this product primarily because my prescription cream for bleaching dark spots was no longer available through my insurance plans. Initially, I saw results that seem to indicate that this would work just as well as my prescription medicine. Today, I’m not so sure. I’ll continue using it since I purchase 3 tubes of it. After I’ve exhausted my supply, I will consider biting the bullet and pay the cost of my prescription medicine.

I must say, I have been a fan of the old “skin lightening lotion” from ProActiv before they changed it and made it the new and improved “Dark Spot Correcter”. I had been using the old version off and on for over a period of years and I always got excellent quick results when I used it even when I would only apply it for one application as suppose to the 2 they always recommended. I notice when I had a bit of the older left my skin spots were clearing fine, but as soon as I starting using the new version nothing. I feel like my face is actually getting worse as far as complexion. I’m very disappointed by this and I feel like it’s a completely different product. I will certainly be checking out the complaint and suggestion line with ProActiv. I feel like they keep the same expensive price but made a cheaply made product. I may have to try something else at one point PA was the only lightener that worked on my skin.

We Review Meladerm Cream – Is This Lesser-known Skin-lightening Cream a Diamond in the Rough?

There are so many skin lighteners available today that some good products are not getting the publicity that perhaps they should. We thought that might be the case with Meladerm cream. You can also grate the cucumber instead of slicing it, and squeeze out the juice before refrigerating it. Mix this cucumber-rich juice with a lanolin cream and pure lemon juice and apply to the under-eye area for ten to 15 minutes. Alternately, you can use simple lemon juice on the dark areas.

Are other natural ingredients also effective against circles under the eyes?

Other home remedies that treat dark circles include crushed mint or almond oil applied under the eyes. You may also make a paste of pineapple juice and turmeric powder and apply to the dark circles.

Niacinamide, which is derived from Niacin, is sometimes used to lighten skin, especially in areas of hyperpigmentation. Applying a moisturizer with a five percent concentration of niacinamide has been shown in a study to successfully decrease the hyperpigmentation and increase the lightness of the skin. Using it topically will also allow you to make use of its properties as an anti-inflammatory agent, which works well for dark circles and puffy eyes.

Almonds in a cream base are an excellent “food” for skin, and they help to reduce the under eye circles. If you use such a cream, be sure to remove it after about ten minutes. You shouldn’t leave any creams on the skin around your eyes for longer than 15 to 20 minutes.

Making a paste from tomato juice and mint leaves can ease some of the dark look of circles under the eyes. Iron and vitamin C are also helpful. Yellow or red peppers are helpful to use under the eyes. or you may use a cream that contains vitamin C and vitamin E to reduce the dark circles.

Stopping some habits will help improve the look of dark circles under your eyes, too. If you stop eating greasy foods, drinking alcohol and smoking, this will increase the overall health of your skin and body.
